The UN–NGO Office advocates at the United Nations Headquarters in New York to advance social justice, sustainable development, peace and international cooperation. We work hand in hand with civil society organisations to bring grassroots voices to the United Nations, ensuring that their struggles and aspirations are heard by government representatives.
To this end, we participate in several United Nations conferences—such as the Commission on the Status of Women and the Commission for Social Development—by attending high-level meetings and co-organising side events that ensure voices from civil society are heard

The 24th Session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII), held at UN Headquarters in New York from April 21 to May 2, 2025, brought together Indigenous leaders, advocates, and global decision-makers to advance the implementation of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Featuring over 100 side events and vibrant intergenerational dialogue, the forum marked a historic milestone with its first high-level discussion dedicated to the rights of Indigenous women.
