In 1984, in Bogotá, the first meeting of Popular Education of the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Latin America was held. That meeting was the culmination of a long process and, at the same time, the beginning of an experience that has strengthened and reinforced the projects that specifically propose to live our option for the poor.
Background
As a result of the economic crisis caused by the pandemic, the vulnerable financial situation of the school's family has been further affected. Many have considered withdrawing their children from the school because they could not afford the fees or have asked for further discounts. The school budget was shrinking and affecting the quality education the school is appreciated for.

Following the Covid pandemic, teaching methods have had to reorganise (online, social distancing and outdoors).
Activities
This project, set in a deprived neighbourhood in the suburb of the capital, strengthened the school on-site teaching with new IT devices, a technology room and adjustments in their multi-purposes room (better acclimatisation and lightening). Outdoor activities were reinforced with new green spaces and the embellishment and adaptation of the school sport ground.

« Il y a dix ans, nous avons commencé à accompagner des adolescents et des jeunes souffrant de problèmes familiaux et judiciaires, de décrochage scolaire et de consommation de drogues dans le quartier de La Cortada, à Reconquista (Santa Fe). À cette époque, nous n'aurions jamais imaginé que nous deviendrions une coopérative de travail qui accompagne plus de 70 jeunes.
"Hace 10 años que empezamos a acompañar en el Barrio La Cortada, Reconquista (Santa Fe) a adolescentes y jóvenes con problemas familiares y judiciales, deserción escolar y consumo de drogas. En aquel momento nunca hubiéramos ni soñado que llegaríamos a ser una cooperativa de trabajo que acompaña a más de 70 jóvenes.
El recorrido ha sido largo - no exento de dificultades de todo tipo- y hoy podemos releer tres claves que impulsaron y han sostenido el proyecto y la apuesta de la inclusión social de estos jóvenes estigmatizados como “los de la esquina”
