The JPIC Commission USG/UISG invites all to a hybrid event organized by Bahá’í International Community to join them in the ninth in a series of off-the-record conversations on the Secretary-General’s recommendation for a New Agenda for Peace. The session will provide a multi-stakeholder space to explore the experiences of those working on issues of transitional justice and fostering inclusive societies, a comprehensive understanding of the work being done to implement the diverse facets of SDG16.
This year at the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF), Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16—“Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels”—will be reviewed. As the world grapples with unprecedented challenges, increasing numbers are coming to believe that these can only be effectively addressed through the recognition of humanity's inherent interdependence. This recognition taps into a deeply held desire for each individual to live in a society characterized by peace, justice, and inclusion.
