Artisans of Hope: Bringing Hope and Empowerment in War Zones

We thank God for woman bringing hope and empowerment even in war zones. In Gaza, Nidaa Aitta, a resilient Palestinian woman, has turned loss into opportunity. After losing her job, home and evacuating to the South, she started the Needle & Thread workshop with other 12 women, upcycling blankets into winter clothes like hoodies, jackets, and training suits. This initiative goes beyond relying on coupons and aid deliveries, focusing instead on supporting women’s economic rights and creating different ways to adapt to the new situation.

Despite the Israeli blockade—limited fabric, no electricity, and scarce fuel—they’ve found innovative solutions, including using an air-powered bicycle for energy and seashells for buttons. Their creativity and determination shine in a place where 80% of businesses have been destroyed. Let us draw inspiration from Nidaa and support her efforts that foster dignity, resilience, and economic empowerment.
