Background

Rahab is a congregation charity in central London offering support to women who may or may not have been trafficked and are working in prostitution.

Objective:

To support women suspected of being trafficked

Activities

  • Visiting sex workders and women suspected of being trafficked. Visits usually take place in the flats they work.

Friends of the Homeless, London

Background

Homelessness is an issue in the city of London

Objective 

To support those who are homeless in the Embankment neighbourhood (London).

Activities

(on which RSCJ collaborate on a weekly basis)

  • making sandwiches,
  • providing sandwiches to the homeless people,
  • meeting those who are homeless.

The Hive café, Growthampton project, Roehampton University

Background

The Hive is a café run by the student union. It is part of the wider community life of Barat House and is a place of meetings with staff and students. The café venue was built out of former shipping containers.

Objective

According to Chris and Lorraine, the RSCJ at Barat House, "this project is very much about promoting the integrity of creation, local partnerships, fair trade, conservation and ecologically sound values and activity.
