Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September. The UN General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, through observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire.

Amid the global pandemic and climate emergency, global peacebuilders call on governments to invest in peace.

Over 200 organizations, including Casa Generalizia della Societa del Sacro Cuore, release a statement on September 21 for International Day of Peace. The statement calls on governments to work together for peace to achieve global transformation for justice.
