• Plastic recycling: lorry from a Kampala recycling plant comes and collect plastic rubbish. Partnership with NGO to have ex-prisonners helping in plastic rubbish collection.

The overall objective is to teach the pupils of the Sacred Heart School of Kalungu to take care of each other and care for the life of everything growing on the compound, to instill in them the value of the works of mercy.

Background

The Sango Bay refugee camp gathers around 5.000 people coming from Tanzania where they settled around 1980. They left from Western Uganda and moved to Tanzania to settle and farm. Many of the camp refugees were born in Tanzania. In 2014, Tanzania evicted them. Uganda allows them to live in makeshift huts at Sango Bay but they are not allowed to farm.
