On September 24 2021, the anniversary of the first Global Youth Climate Strike which was in in 2019,
thousands of youth around the world organized to demand climate action.
Among these groups was the youth group in Malvan, India, led by Megal D’Souza. They participated
by cleaning their local beach from waste pollution. In the evening, they had a prayer service at which
Megal also gave an enlightening presentation on the Global Climate situation.
The youth are supported by their parents, Youth Leader, Monica Fernandes rscj, and community member
Rita Pinto rscj.
The group is also part of the youth-led “Fridays for Future” movement.
