Background
Non profit organisation with mission to accompany the people of Latin America in their struggle for human rights and social justice through education and advocacy in the US.
Advocate and do direct action, provide material aid and accompaniment of the poor and marginalized of Latin America, and encourage immersion experiences.
Educate and advocate in the US for a change in US policies which affect immigration, economic justice, environmental justice, health, education and militarization.
Activities
- Fair food - small increase in price of tomato to guarantee tomato pickers a fair living wage (limiting workers exploitation); partnership with retailers and local grocery stores;
- Accompaniment of peope in social difficulties following wars (El Salvador, ease the return of civilians to their war-torn communities by providing basic necessities: purchase of cows, teacher salaries, roof for the school, water project), environmental disasters (hurricane in Nicaragua, reconstruction of community servicies: community centre, corn mill, etc.),
- Immigration: support to cross-border networks.
