Background

The Sango Bay refugee camp gathers around 5.000 people coming from Tanzania where they settled around 1980. They left from Western Uganda and moved to Tanzania to settle and farm. Many of the camp refugees were born in Tanzania. In 2014, Tanzania evicted them. Uganda allows them to live in makeshift huts at Sango Bay but they are not allowed to farm. 

Objective 

To alleviate the situation of displaced people at Sango Bay.  

Activities:

  • Clothes gathering and distribution to displaced people.

  • Adovcacy in local insitutions to help displaced people.

  • Raise solidarity among local shops to help displaced people

  • Renounce personal items and offer them to displaced people.

  • To have a poor box out for displaced people.
