General Objective

To offer a space of attention and accompaniment to mothers with children under the age of six , enhancing their relationship, their bonding and the children’s healthy growth in the city of Tetouan (Morocco).

Specific Objective

  • To support and accompany migrant mothers in raising their children (food, hygiene, education and health).
  • To prevent and detect possible health complications among the mothers and their children.
  • To encourage positive relationships between mother and child that strengthen the affective bond and favour a good physical and emotional development.
  • To encourage socialisation and stimulation of children by playing with their mothers and with other peers.
  • To encourage complicity and mutual help among women of the group.

Activities

It is a weekly five-hour workshop in a cozy space. It starts at 10 am teaching children hygienic habits (shower) and healthy food (breakfast). Outdoor ground play follows where mother and children play together. Around noon time, a massage workshop starts and is followed by a food and health talks. The gathering ends up with a creativity and art workshop. Each week, one of the mother prepares lunch for the whole group.

In the 2019 autumn, the RSCJ moved to Oujda (Moroccan border-city between Morocco and Algeria) to foster their help to people on the move.
