
Background
At Sophia Polytechnic, as part of our efforts towards the care of the Mother Earth, we installed a composter for wet garbage in January 2018. Following this, in 2018-2019, we installed solar panels to generate electricity to cover a part of the requirements of one unit of Sophia Polytechnic and that of Sophia Bhabha Hall which serves all Sophia campus institutions.

Activities
To find sponsorship for the installation of solar panels, the setting up of the solar panels, installation of net-metering in order to get the benefits of the electricity generated by the solar panels.
Results
A large part of the electricity requirements of Sophia Bhabha Hall and of one unit of Sophia Polytechnic will be met by solar energy in future, and unlike other sources of energy, solar energy is renewable and causes no environmental pollution.
