Objectives
- To reflect upon the issue of peace together in group with associations and organisations.
- To organise joint actions in favour of peace.
- To make peace a visible issue.
- To promote a culture of peace in the city of Guadalajara, Mexico.
Activities
About 15 not-for-profit associations are involved in this peace project. The working group has participated in the organisation of five Festivals for Peace and several Cafés por la Paz, as well as being involved in programs of education for peace. We are present in two organisations of Popular Education of the Province. In addition to the peace issue, the working group exchange collaboration on matters such as work with migrants, environmental education, etc.
Participated in interviews and reportages in different local media such as radio and press in Guadalajara, highlighting the issue of peace.
Attending the State Commission of Human Rights of the State of Jalisco to enter a formal complaint with several signatures for the violation of the human right to peace.
Dialogue with the Secretary of Education of the State of Jalisco on the participation in the Program of Coexistence and Peace in schools in areas of high vulnerability.
Participated in forums of Universities and Educational Institutions with topics such as: Peace building, Reconstruction of the social fabric and Human Rights (3rd generation).
Within the Working Group: Training seminar on topics related to Peace twice a month.
Collaborative activities towards local communities creating synergy between organisations.
The existence throughout the last 5 years of the C-Paz Working Group formed by several associations and organisations of the civil society is already an achievement.
