Background

As Religious of the Sacred Heart, the search for justice, peace and the integrity of creation cuts across all dimensions of our life. We want it to be a benchmark for discernment in the choice of our relationships, projects and commitments. We want to continue to walk with young people. Many of them are engaged in justice and are concerned about the future of our common home. We need to be with all of them in their search for God, for the meaning and value of life.

We are convinced that our spirituality has something important to say to the world today and we want to share it with young people in a creative and life-giving way.

The young people are aware that the Love that God has to translate into SERVICE to others, beyond the borders that governments defend, as Pope Francis says: go to those physical and existential borders. That is why they are committed to building common places (symbolic and physical) at the global and local levels. In this sense, volunteering is a means that allows for greater global citizenship where one experiences that we are one interconnected and interdependent "One Body”.

Objective

Direct objective: To offer young volunteers a process of personal growth, human formation and insertion by participating in the co-responsible experience of social transformation as an expression of their Christian commitment.

Indirect objective: To promote the transformation of reality of vulnerable and marginalised collectivities through volunteer service.
