Background

The average pension in Cuba is low and cannot meet the daily health needs of the elderly. Young Cubans migrate leaving their relatives alone without support. 

Activities

The Religious of the Sacred Heart, within their social pastoral in the city of Sancti Spiritus, welcome elderly alone in need. RSCJ take care of: 

  • Daily breakfast for the elderly
  • Hygienic services (showers, laundry)
  • Second-hand clothes 
  • Socialisation: board games, chatting
  • Tai-Chi lessons
  • Medicine supply
