Background
With limited economic resources, parents are unable to pay for their childrens school fees, if so, boys usually get the upper hand. Out-of-school girls become a target for early marriages and pregnancies.
Activities
The project ensured that 50 non-boarding girls completed their academic year. New and functioning pedagogical and IT equipment was available for their education. The school environment also provided extra curricula activities to boost a modern and cultural environment that enhanced the students learnings and nurtured their curiosity.
Results
The girls maintained a full engagement in their studies with peace in mind. They showed responsibility in their studies and an increase in independence. They leant basic IT skills (Word and Excel office, internet browsers). Early pregnancies and dropout diminished. Students took their final exams and achieved national qualification.
