Background
Antipodeans Abroad Programme:
The Antipodeans Expedition emphasises leadership, teamwork, adventure, cultural awareness and service (including self-initiated fund raising projects).
Objectif
To increase the cultural awareness of students, and to allow students to experience social justice in another culture and country.
Activities

Kincoppal Rose Bay (Sydney): Year 10 and 11 students are given the opportunity to join in an expedition to India once a year. The trip spends a week working at a Buddhist orphanage in the Himalayas (Nepal).

Stuartholme School (Brisbane): Tours have taken our students to China, Vietnam, India, Laos and Peru.

Sacré-Cur School Melbourne: a three week expedition to India combining sightseeing, trekking and a social justice community project. In 2015, three separate Expeditions, including a total of 54 students and nine staff, ventured to the north-west Indian Himalayan region. Each group spent at least one week living in a local village engaging in a service activity funded by the students. The service activities were based around the local school and typically involved renovating the buildings, landscaping surroundings, providing resources
Outcomes

Students have been educated to a critical consciousness that leads them to analyse and reflect on the values of society and to act for justice.

Students have received preparation and inspiration to be active, informed and globally responsible citizens.
